Doc Whiz's Tour de Kent

Fine Print :

Doc Whiz in no way represents any views of Kent State University. Nor does K.S.U. want to be responsible for anything Doc Whiz may say.

Doc Whiz has been around Kent State University so long he gets mistaken for someone who really matters The one thing that is true is that Doc Whiz is really familiar with Kent State University...... So get on your cyber shoes and take the Tour de Kent.... If you are considering coming to Kent as a student, you may want to check out the Kent State University's home page...... otherwise you can continue and see what you are missing......................

This is the start of our Tour de Kent. Feel free to click on each picture for insights that only Doc Whiz can share because he is the only person on campus that can make it up as fast as it can be displayed.

It seems that every university has gates on it and if it is a "real" university, there is a bronze seal set on the ground somewhere on campus. Doc Whiz thinks that this was a tradition of the early twentieth century academics.......that in order to be considered a real university, you need gates for students to kiss under, meet under, carry out ceremonies and rites under, or do all those crazy college prank things under.

At the north east corner of the campus are the Prentice Gates

and the bronze seal is set among cobble stones just in front of the gates.

Isn't this an impressive looking building..... it's the Administration Building.

On Front Campus, the "concrete KENT", was site of another lost tradition.

And this is the one and only Tamarac tree.

This is another view of a building on front campus.

Here is the inside of a front campus classroom

This is one of the many parking lots on campus....

Signs like this are located throughout the campus and the community of Kent.

Wait at one of those signs long enough and one of these......... will stop.

This is "THE ROCK"..... it is the only active tradition at Kent.......
