Dorothy M. and Mildred G. Lucke Scholarship for Nutrition and Dietetics

This scholarship was established in 1995 to provide assistance to undergraduate and graduate students in the field of nutrition and dietetics. One award will be made annually to an undergraduate student and two awards to graduate students, depending on the number of qualified students. Awards for undergraduate students will be $1200 and graduate students $1775.

The criteria for undergraduate students are as follows:

  • Junior standing
  • Completed Chemistry 20481 (Organic Chemistry) or equivalent
  • Declared major of nutrition and dietetics
  • Minimum grade point average of 3.0 Extracurricular activities
  • Work experience related to nutrition and dietetics
  • Professional goal statement

The criteria for graduate students are as follows:

  • First year graduate student, with no more than 10 hours course work toward degree
  • Admitted into nutrition program
  • Minimum grade point average of 3.5
  • Extracurricular activities
  • Work experience related to nutrition and dietetics
  • Professional goal statement

James and Dorothy Fruit Scholarship

This scholarship was established in 2000 to recognize an outstanding junior, senior, or graduate student in the Human Development and Family Studies program for scholarship and service. A certificate will be presented along with a $500 scholarship to be divided between Fall and Spring Semesters.

The criteria are as follows:

  • HDFS major
  • Junior, Senior, or Graduate Student
  • Minimum grade point average of 3.0
  • Service related to family studies

Eva Medved Endowed Scholarship for Nutrition and Dietetics

This scholarship was established in 1998 to provide nutrition students in their Master of Science degree program with assistance in their research, or for a senior student who has applied to the dietetic internship. This award is intended to encourage students who have demonstrated the capacity to achieve educational and professional goals, the motivation to achieve these goals, and the initiative to seek opportunities to further their progress. This $500 scholarship is awarded annually in the spring with the award to be effective in the spring or fall semester.

The criteria are as follows:

  • Nutrition students in the second year of their master of science program or a graduating senior who has applied to the dietetic internship
  • Minimum grade point average of 3.0
  • Work experience related to the nutrition field
  • Demonstrated leadership on campus and in the community
