Students in the HM Program are encouraged (not required) to pursue a minor field of study in Business or Management, administered by the College of Business Administration. Currently, students who complete the requirements for the HM degree, only have to complete an additional two courses for the minor in Management. To obtain minors in both Business and Management, students only have to complete an additional three courses.
The Minor in Management is intended to provide a basic core of management courses, with a focus on management of the people rather than the business functions of organizations. The minor places emphasis on strategic management, leadership, and the management of employees. This minor provides basic knowledge required to fulfill a managerial or leadership role in an organizational setting.
Requirements for declaration of a minor:
- An officially declared major
- A minimum of 60 completed hours
- A minimum 2.50 cumulative GPA
- A minimum 2.50 GPA is required in the minor.
