ksu excellence in action Summer of Literacy: Workshop Offerings for Graduate students

This is the Summer of Literacy for the Professional Development Program at the College. The summer schedule offers a variety of topics within the category of literacy for graduate students.

Workshop offerings include:

  • "The Arts" Integrated into Content-Based Literacy for K-Third Grades
  • New! Balanced Literacy: The MAX Approach
  • Born to Learn: Reading Aloud and Modeling for Young Children: The Essence for Language Development
  • Content-Based Literacy: Standards and Practicing Literacy Through Math, Science and Social Studies Themes
  • Effective Reading Instruction for Struggling Readers
  • From Phonics to Fluency
  • New Media Literacy

Students are certain to find a workshop that will help to improve literacy in the classroom. Also, there will be workshops offered in many other areas from leadership to character education to digital programming. Many of the workshops are offered as on-line courses, so you may not need to leave the comfort of your home to be actively engaged in the learning process.
