complete Candidate Professionalism statements and view Disposition Assessments
Go to the Student Portal to sign all FOUR statements, which include:
- Statement of Candidate Professionalism
- Candidate should electronically sign this document in EDPF29535, Education in a Democratic Society
- This document informs the candidate that they will be assessed at least three times during their teacher education coursework at Kent State University
- Transfer candidates will sign this statement as part of an advising appointment
- If for any reason a candidate does not sign this statement, a Disposition Assessment can still be completed for the candidate if information about the Disposition Assessment is included in the course syllabus
- Disposition Assessment
- Assessments take place at three pre-defined points and on an as needed basis
- Assessment Point 1 - EDPF29535, Education in a Democratic Society
- Assessment Point 2 - methods courses selected by the program areas
- Assessment Point 3 - Student teaching seminar
- Assessment point 1 consists of 10 indicators
- Assessment points 2 and 3 consists of 24 indicators
- Ratings are Not Observed, Needs Improvement, and Acceptable
- Acceptable is pre-selected default
- When the assessment is completed by the evaluator the candidate receives an email to view the assessment results at the https://www.ehhs.kent.edu/stuPortal of the student portal
- Assessments take place at three pre-defined points and on an as needed basis
- Professional Disposition Plan (PDP)
- A PDP must be completed by any candidate who:
- Receives a Needs Improvement on one of the assessment indicators and
- Does not have the "Does Not Need to Complete a PDP" box checked by the evaluator on the assessment form
- Candidate Responsibility
- It is the candidate's responsibility to initiate a meeting with the evaluator who assigned the needs improvement.
- If the "Needs Improvement" and the PDP is assigned at the end of the semester, it is the candidate's responsibility to contact the program coordinator who will be the final approver on the PDP.
- The form is considered complete when:
- The candidate and evaluator have agreed on the plan.
- The evaluator has electronically signed the form on the EHHS Faculty/Staff Portal
- The candidate has electronically signed the plan on the EHHS Student Portal
- This must be completed by the due date entered by the evaluator on the PDP form
- If the candidate has not signed the PDP by the due date, he/she will receive a reminder email
- The evaluator will receive an email if the candidate has not signed the PDP by the due date
- A PDP must be completed by any candidate who:
- Follow-up Professional Disposition Plan
- The evaluator will need to complete this form by the due date assigned in the PDP
- The evaluator will need to sign the form electronically on the EHHS Faculty/Staff Portal
- The candidate will need to sign the form electronically on the EHHS Student Portal
